CSEA 2020 Convention Postponed
On Saturday, June 27, CSEA/SEIU Local 2001 held an online Special Convention to consider postponing this year’s regular biennial CSEA Convention from this fall to the fall of 2021. The resolution was recommended by the CSEA Executive Council in light of the global health crisis and the limitations on large social gatherings. The Special Convention was very well attended and the delegates voted unanimously in support of the resolution to postpone the 2020 biennial convention to 2021. As required in the CSEA Constitution, the delegates to the Special Convention were the same individuals that served in our last biennial convention in 2018.
President Steve Anderson commented, “I am pleased that our members are all on the same page about this. The health and well-being of our members must always come first. Our biennial convention is a special event where we celebrate each other and our union. We are disappointed that it can’t happen this year, but we look forward to getting back together in 2021. On behalf of our union’s leadership, I wish everyone a happy, healthy summer.”
